Glendale-based DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. and microprocessor maker Intel Corporation said this morning that the two have formed a strategic alliance, aimed at the 3-D filmmaking market. According to the firms, the deal calls for DreamWorks Animation to take advantage of Intel's visual computing products and tools, with Intel supplying DreamWorks with its future chips, software engineers, and helping DreamWorks convert its computing infrastructure to an Intel-based system. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The two said the alliance will begin with the upcoming DreamWorks title Monsters vs. Aliens, which is due for release in March of 2009.
