Jazz Rolls Out 0.13 Micron Process

Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor said this week that it has rolled out a 0.13 micron process for RF CMOS semiconductors. The company's new process provides low cost, analog system on a chip integration. The company said that its new 0.13 micron process platform is an alternative for applications that do not require expensive copper interconnect on 0.13 micron CMOS. The company's process utilizes aluminum metal interconnects to to connect analog and RF functionality on the chips, which reduces costs and complexity of chips. The company's chip processes are used for TV tuners, cellular and wireless equipment, and other RF applications.
