Essential Attitude and Outlook • Takes initiative, a self-starter that has the confidence to take on the role and associated duties with minimal supervision • Applies a proactive and innovative approach when problem solving and providing solutions – many technical issues will not be documented/found in online forums, so higher level thinking required • Comfortable with an ever-changing environment • Communicates effectively with peers, willing to speak up and offer ideas to the rest of the tech support team • Possesses a positive and engaging demeanor, which is an absolute must as the role is customer facing Technical / Operational Support • Provide 1st (and after training) 2nd level technical and operational support to customers in the installation, operation and maintenance of the SnapComms software products • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues via e-mail, phone and remote-screen sharing in a timely manner • Support the North American sales team by providing pre-sales technical support as required • Support the software development team by performing manual testing on the operation and functionality of new features and releases, any previous Q&A experience would be a plus • Work with the software development team and hand over faults that need a permanent resolution involving coding or updates to the software • Potentially lead tech support projects to implement improvements, new tools, and/or process improvement for the Tech Support function overall • General administration support of the company’s production IT infrastructure • Other duties as required, as we are a growing company we often wear many hats • A flexible attitude to working hours and ability to sometimes work outside of office hours -(i.e. if a major outage occurs or overseas tech support colleagues need back up) • Maintain an operational and functional knowledge of the SnapComms application, specifically the use and management of the Content Management System • Maintain a working knowledge of the technical aspects of the SnapComms application with focus on installation, server and client operations and management • Work with the SnapComms Knowledge Base and Provisioning portal and enter/follow-up open issues in our Support tracking system Essential Skills and Experience: • 2-5 years Technical problem solving experience in software/IT • Understanding of Windows Server 2003 and 2008 including IIS and Active Directory concepts • Conceptual understanding of SQL Server • Fundamental understanding of networks: TCP/IP, Firewalls & Proxy, DNS • Software skills Microsoft Windows XP through to Windows 7 • Experience with ZenDesk, GoToMeeting and GoToAssist is a plus • Knowledge of UNIX, HTML and CSS is a plus • Understands the value of timely client responsiveness and ability to put a customer at ease • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized, ability to self-learn • Software background is a must • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational skills Benefits include healthcare, four weeks of vacation and possibility of international travel (New Zealand).
