JPL Cuts More Than 530

Pasadena-based NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is cutting more than 530 employees--plus an additional 40 contractors--as part of a lower budget from NASA, the research facility announced on Wednesday. The lab said the cuts will be occurring both in the technical and support areas for JPL. The research facility said that the layoffs came after "exhausting all other measures to adjust to a lower budget from NASA, and in the absence of an FY24 appropriation from Congress".
