LA Technology Investor Bohnett Appointed To Kennedy Center Board
David Bohnett, the founder of Geocities.com, and currently head of Los Angeles venture capital firm Baroda Ventures, has been appointed as a Trustee to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The appointment was announced Friday by the White House and the Obama administration. Bohnett, who spends a significant amount of time nowadays focused on philanthropic efforts, is currently Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, and is a trustee at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, in addition to other efforts. Baroda Ventures has invested in such companies as DogVacay, GradientX, GraphEffect, LifeCrowd, OVGuide, SurfAir, and Retention Science, among others. Bohnett is one of the early pioneers of Southern California's technology industry, having founded GeoCities.com in 1994 and selling it to Yahoo in 1999.
