Carslbad-based Life Technologies said today that it has acquired Pinpoint Genomics, a developer of an early-stage, non-small cell lung cancer test. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. Pinpoint's tests help identify early-stage patients at high risk for progression to late-stage lung cancer, which the firm says can improve survival rates for lung cancer patients.
