Los Angeles-based Maverick Angels, the angel investment group headed by John Dilts, formally announced its expansion into Italy today, saying it has tied with Intesa SanPaolo Bank to create a new angel investor network based in Milan. Financial details of the alliance with Intesa SanPaolo Bank--which Maverick Angels said is among the largest financial institutions in Europe--were not announced by the group. Maverick Angels founder Dilts said, in a statement, that the move would help create stronger ties between start-ups and angel and venture capital investors in Italy.
