MaxLinear Wins Hisense

Carlsbad-based radio frequency and mixed signal chip provider MaxLinear reports this morning that it has scored a design win with the Hisense Group, the Chinese TV manufacturer. According to MaxLinear, HiSense is using its MxL661 CMOS TV tuner IC in its latest generation of LED/LCD televisions. Shipment volumes and financial impact of the design win was not announced. MaxLinear said that Hisense is using its chips because of specific features necessary for signal reception in legacy Chinese analog cable TV systems.
