MicroMedia Filtration Becomes M2 Renewables

Irvine-based MicroMedia Filtration, the venture backed provider of wastewater treatment and renewable energy technology, announced Thursday that it has renamed itself M2 Renewables. The firm, which is backed by clean technology venture capital firm SAIL Venture Partners, said the move reflects a "wider commitment" of the firm to the sustainable solutions market. The firm develops wastewater treatment products it says use 1/5 the energy, and are 1/10th the footprint and 1/2 the cost of existing technology. The company is headed by Gerhard Forstner and was founded by Ken Stedman.
