Microsemi Aims At Auto Industry With FPGAs

Aliso Viejo-based semiconductor maker Microsemi> is making a push into the automotive market, saying that it has released a number of automotive-grade field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and system-on-chip (SoC) FPGAs. Those chips are aimed at designers developing circuits for automotive applications, and include both high reliability and security features. The company said the products are ideal for driver assistance systems, vehicle communications, and electric/hybrid engine control systems, among other applications.
