Newport Beach-based Mindspeed announced yesterday that its VoIP processors are now shipping with Siemens Communications VoIP media gateways. The company's Comcerto voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) processors are being used in the Siemens gateways to bridge between traditional public switch telephone networks and IP-based networks. The Mindspeed processors provide high-performance digital signal processing (DSP) cores and packet processing to provide a high-density VoIP system-on-a-chip. The hardware is targeted at telecommunications equipment manufacturers.
