Chatsworth-based MRV Communications, a developer of optical networking components, said Wednesday that it has hired on a new Vice President and General Counsel, Jennifer Hankes Painter. According to MRV, Painter joins the firm on recommendation of a Special Committee formed by its board to examine accounting issues. Painter joins the company from The Ryland Group, and has also served at Cadiz, Sullivan & Cromwell, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. MRV has been looking at its stock options practices since June of last year.
