Net Searchers Making Purchases Offline

comScore Networks is reporting today that a new study of online search behavior shows that 63 percent of search-related purchases occur at offline, retail stores. The new study, commissioned by Google, examined the impact of Web searches online and offline during November and December. The study found that the highest rates of buyers who make purchases offline was in the video games and console category, followed by toys and hobbies. The study also said that seven in ten holiday searchers claimed that search was influential in helping to find gifts, although physical stores still ranked first.
