Hulu Launches Ad-Free Streaming Service For $11.99 A MonthLos Angeles-based streaming television service Hulu said this morning that it has launched a new, ad-free service, which will cost $4 a month more than the company's existing, premium subscription. The $11.99 per month service is the first time Hulu has offered up viewing of the company's streaming content without advertising. Hulu's normal service costs $7.99 a month. DTS Buys iBiquity Digital For $172MCalabasas-based audio processing technology developer DTS has acquireed iBiquity Digital Corporation, in a deal worth $172M, the company said this morning. iBiquity Digital develops an audio and data broadcasting technology called HD Radio. Saucey Raises $4.5M For On-Demand Alcohol Delivery AppLos Angeles-based Saucey, a provider of an on-demand, alcohol delivery app said it has raised $4.5M in a seed funding round. The funding came from Blumberg Capital, Structure Capital, Altpoint Ventures, T5 Capital, HashtagOne, as well as individual angels. The company was founded by Chris Vaughn, Daniel Leeb and Andrew Zeck, who were all previously at TextPlus. Yardi Buys Optimus EMRSanta Barbara-based software developer Yardi has acquired Optimus EMR, a developer of software used for managing long term care. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Optimus EMR has staff in Irvine and Mansfield, Mass. Yardi said the acquisition will help it expand its suite of senior living software. Optimus EMR's software is ued to manage resident care and clinical activities. The company was founded in 2001.

Semtech, Others To Launch Internet-of-Things Network In Ventura County
Camarillo-based semiconductor devleoper Semtech, along with two partners, Mueller Systems and Senet, said Tuesday afternoon that they are launching a new wireless, low power, wide-are network in Ventura County using the LoRa networking standard. LoRa is an emerging, interoperable standard for low power, wide are networking protocols, which are aimed at use by the Internet-of-Things (IoT) market. The standard handles exchanging information between battery powered or other low-power devices.

PAR Technology Gets $5.6M Award At MuguMilitary support contract PAR Technology Corporation said this morning that it has scored a $5.6M, contract award, at Point Mugu, to help provide satellite operations and maintenance services at the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC) Headquarters.
