Reports: Glitch In Ring Doorbells Causes Confusion
Santa Monica-based smart doorbell maker Ring had a glitch this month where some of its doorbells accidentally pulled up video from the wrong houses, causing some confusion and worry over the product. According to reports, due to a bug in the company's software, a limited number of users saw video from other people's houses, instead of their own, when they used the company's apps. Ring, in a statement to a number of publications, said that it believes less than ten instances of the issue occurred (More info...)

Lucid Sight Finds $3M For Virtual Reality Games, Ads
Los Angeles-based Lucid Sight, a developer of an ad-supported, virtual reality game development platform, said today that it has raised $3.5M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Rana Capital Partners and Salem Partners. The company is led by Randy Saaf.

PatientPop Raises $10M More
Santa Monica-based PatientPop has raised another $10M in its Series A funding, bringing the amount raised in its first round to $20M, the company said Monday. The funding came from Toba Capital, athenahealth, and Silicon Valley Bank. The company said the new funding will go towards product development and expanding integrations. PatientPop develops practice management software for health care providers; the company announced the first $10M in the round back in November.

SCE Ramps Up Electric Vehicle Charging Program
Southern California Edison says it is ramping up its electric vehicle charging efforts, with a new "Charge Ready" program to install more electric vehicle charging stations. According to SCE, it is launching a pilot program where it hopes to add as many as 1,500 electric vehicle charging stations in its service area. SCE says it will install and maintain supporting, electrical infrastructure, at no cost to participants, who own, operate, and maintain their own electric vehicle charging station. (More info...)

Stratalux Names New President
Los Angeles-based Stratalux, a provider of managed IT services, said it has named Justin Cohen as President of the company. Cohen was previously EVP of Services at Calance, and has 20 years plus of experience, according to the company. Cohen has been on its advisory board since 2014. Stratalux helps businesses migrate their systems to Amazon Web Services (AWS), and also helps manage those systems once migrated. The company is led by Jeremy Przygode.

Kite Pharma Sets CFO
Santa Monica-based Kite Pharma has named a new CFO, saying it has apointed Paul L. Jenkinson to the position. Current CFO Cynthia M. Butitta has shifted to Chief Operating Officer. Jenkinson was previously at Allergan, where he was Vice President, Global Commercial and Corporate Finance, and where he had been for nearly a decade. Jenkinson also previously served at Black & Decker Corporation, Deloitte New Zealand, and Fonterra.

Enevate Names CFO
Irvine-based battery technology developer Enevate announced this morning that it has appointed John B. Kennedy as its new Chief Financial Officer. Kennedy was previously CFO at Sprocket Media and SolarBridge Technologies, and also has served at Primarion, ValueClick, and other companies. Resonant Reports New Licensing Agreement
Goleta-based Resonant, which develops technology used for radio frequency (RF) filters, reported that it has signed a second licensing agreement for its technology. The company said the agreement is with an un-named, existing customer. According to Resonant, the agreement covers three three Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) duplexer designs, and includes acceptance milestone payments and royalties. The agreement appears to be with the same customer the company announced a deal with in April.
