Vow To Be Chic Gets $5M For Bridesmaid Dress Rentals
Los Angeles-based bridesmaid dress rental site Vow To Be Chic, which was founded by Kelsey Doorey, said Wednesday that it has raised $5M in a Series A funding. The company said the funding included Pritzker Group Venture Capital and Wavemaker Partners, along with the Women's Venture Capital Fund. Vow To Be Chic said the funding will go towards scaling the business, improving its technology, and growing its team.

QLogic Acquired By Cavium For $1.36 Billion
Aliso Viejo-based QLogic is being acquired by San Jose-based Cavium, in a deal worth $1.36 billion, the two said Wednesday afternoon. According to the two, they are in a definitive agreement where Cavium will pay approximately $15.50 per share for QLogic, split between $11.00 per share in cash and 0.098 share of Cavium common stock. SpaceX Sees Successful Launch And Deployment, But No Go On Landing
SpaceX has successfully launched another mission into space, sending two satellites--one for Eutelsat and another for ABS--into orbit. However, the third attempt at landing the first stage of the company's Falcon 9 rocket failed, after two earlier successful attempts. According to a tweet from SpaceX founder and CEO, Elon Musk, the company's drone ship was okay, but there were issues with rocket control on the Falcon 9. Napster Returns: Rhapsody Renames Itself As Napster
In another chapter in the brand-that-wouldn't-disappear, Napster, the music streaming service brand which, for awhile, was based in Los Angeles, is coming back -- this time, as a rebrand of Seattle-based streaming music service Rhapsody. Rhapsody said on Tuesday that it will rebrand as Napster sometime this Summer. SpaceX Plans Another Launch Today For EUTELSAT, ABS
Space launches by Hawthorne-based SpaceX are almost becoming as regular as scheduled service at the local bus stop, as the company is planning yet, another satellite launch today, this time for satellite operators Eutelsat and ABS. According to SpaceX, the launch window for its Eutelsat/ABS mission opens today at 10:29 a.m. ET. Yardi Adds More Info To Open Data Interface Program
Santa Barbara-based property management software developer Yardi is further opening up its data interfaces, the company said this morning. As part of an effort to allow third party software products to tap into its flagship product, Yardi Voyager, the company said it has opened up a new, commercial data interface, which will allow third party software access to commercial property, unit and tenant data. Yardi said the new data is geared towards financial transactions and facilities management.

Canary Health Links With Medtronic On Diabetes Care
Los Angeles-based Canary Health, which provides chronic health management software aimed at digital health self-care programs, has inked a partnership with Medtronic, the company said this morning. According to Canary Health, Medtronic will expand their diabetes care offerings with the Canary Health self-management suite for pre-diabetes, diabetes and related comorbidities. Oblong Industries Wins Contract With NASA
Los Angeles-based Oblong Industries, which develops gesture-aware, 3D spatial user interfaces, reported this morning that it has scored a contract with NASA Aeronautics. According to Oblong, it has been awarded a contract to provide NASA Aeronautics with its immersive, collaboration products to help connect engineers and researchers across the U.S. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Invoca Debuts New Facebook Ad Product
Santa Barbara-based Invoca, which helps marketers correlate phone calls to what advertising drove those calls, has rolled out another product for Facebook, the company said Tuesday. Invoca said its new Invoca for Social allows marketers to optimize their Facebook ad campaigns, all directly within Facebook's Ad Manager.
