Qualcomm Wins Pharmaceuticals Firm
San Diego-based Qualcomm says that its technology has been adopted by pharmaceuticals developer Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, as part of an inhaler for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to Qualcomm, it is working to develop a connectivity product for Boehringer's RESPIMAT inhaler, which collects information and transmits that wirelessly to health care providers. JustFab Embraces All Body Shapes, Sizes With New Collection
El Segundo-based fashion and e-commerce brand JustFab said this morning that it has made a major expansion of its collection, to provide fashions for every body type and extended sizes. According to the company, its new 'All Size' campaign will emphasize on-trend fashions for every body type, from XS to 3X & 24-34 with the additions of 16W- 24W. Prime Focus Technologies Gets Private Equity Investment
Los Angeles-based Prime Focus Technologies, a developer of ERP software for the media industry, says it has received its first round of funding from private equity investor Ambit Pragma. Size of the investment was not announced. ReVision Optics Commercially Launches Vision Correction Products To Market
Lake Forest-based ReVision Optics, which develops implantable, corneal inlay technology used for vision correction, says it has commercially launched its Raindrop Near Vision Inlay within the U.S. The company said it treated its first patients in Houston and San Antonio, Texas, and in Bloomington, Minnesota on Tuesday. The Trade Desk Snags Marketing Chief From eBay
Ventura-based The Trade Desk, which develops an advertising technology platform, says it has appointed Mark Kirschner as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Kirschner was most recently CMO of eBay Enterprise, and also previousl y has been CMO of Rakuten. He also has served at Scholastic Internet Group, MTV, Paramount Interactive and NEC Technologies. Kirschner will be based out of The Trade Desk's New York offices. The Trade Desk recently filed for an IPO.

Jacobs Buys Technology, Patents From Bayer AG
Pasadena-based Jacobs Engineering Group said this morning that it has acquired the patent rights to a process for removing sulfuric acid from gases from Bayer AG. Financial terms of the technology buy were not announced. Jacobs Engineering said it acquired the BAYQUIK quasi-isothermal sulfuric acid converter technology and other related technology from Bayer AG, in a deal that includes all relevant Bayer technical, commercial and market information, plus transition services.

MindSpark Taps Autistic Individuals For Software Testing Workforce
Santa Monica-based startup MindSpark announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its efforts to provide enterprise level, software testing, tapping into a workforce of employees who are specifically on the autism spectrum.
