Event Farm Acquires Event Software Company Attend
Santa Monica-based Event Farm, which develops event marketing software, has acquired Boston-based event software company Attend, as an expansion of the company's reach. Event Farm--which already has offices in Santa Monica and Washington D.C., said the acquisition will add its presence with an office in Boston. Fulgent Genetics Up Slightly In IPO Debut
Temple City-based Fulgent Genetics, closed its first day on the public markets up slightly, at $9.18 per share, after debuting at $9.00 per share this morning. The company priced at $9.00 a share on Wednesday night, and is now trading as FLGT on the NASDAQ Global Market. The company sold 4,200,000 shares of its common stock in the offering, raising $37.8M in its IPO. Fulgent Genetics is led by serial entrepreneur Ming Hsieh.

Kyriba Raises $23M For Risk Management, Treasury Management Software
San Diego-based Kyriba said this morning that it has raised $23M more, in a Series D funding. The developer of cloud-based, treasury management and risk management software said the round was led by Bpifrance, and also included HSBC and Daher Capital. Kyriba, led by Jean-Luc Robert, helps enterprises manage cross border transactions and finance. Kyriba's other investors include HSBC, BRED Banque Populaire, Daher Capital, Iris Capital and Upfront Ventures.

Velocify Names Trio Of New Executives
Los Angeles-based Velocify, which develops software to help companies better manage their sales process, is in a growth spurt, with the hire of three new executives--all veterans of the tech industry from the LA area. Velocify says it has named Kyle Messman as CFO of the company, Tiffany Chelsvig as Vice President of Human Resources, and Joel Ginsburg as General Counsel. Newegg Looks To Boot Up Holiday Sales, In October

Smith Micro Adds Design and Development Service
Aliso Viejo-based software developer Smith Micro Sofware said that it has launched a new, design and development service, which will help its customers develop their own mobile apps. According to Smith Micro, the service is aimed at B2 enterprises and startups, and help them develop iOS, Android, and Windows apps. Spireon Rolls Out New Solar Powered Telematics Product
Irvine-based vehicle telematics and tracking systems provider Spireon said today that it has launched a new product, a solar-powered product specifically being used for tracking trailers. Maxwell Technologies Names Sales VP
San Diego-based Maxwell Technologies, a developer of ultracapacitor-based energy storage systems, has named Olaf Muller as the company's Senior Vice President of Sales. Muller was most recently at Benteler Automotive. Muller also has served at TRW. The company said Muller has 20 years of experience in the automotive industry.

Esri Offers Up Free Software To Winners Of EPA Challenge
Redland-based Esri, which develops geographical information management (GIS) and mapping software, says it will donate $80,000 in software to winners of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Smart City Air Challenge. The EPA's challenge looks to spur communities to provide real time data collection from networks of air quality sensors.
