Southern California's venture capital totals dropped significantly in Q3 of 2016, to a mere $663.2M in funding, according to the latest numbers from the PricewaterhouseCoopers MoneyTree report, based on data from Thomson Reuters. According to the report, there were 71 deals worth a total of $663.2M in funding in Q3, down from the much larger, $2.5 billion in funding received in the region in Q2. Ingenu Deploys M2M Network In Tampa Bay, FloridaSan Diego-based machine-to-machine networking provider Ingenu said Thursday that it has launched an M2M network in Tampa Bay, Florida, to help support environmental monitoring, logistics and transportation, smart city and smart grid applications. Zadara Wins ContractPalIrvine-based storage-as-a-service provider Zadara Storage said this week that its systems and service have been deployed at ContractPal, a provider of e-signature services and software. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Zadara said that ContractPal is using its VPSA storage array architecture, because of it's support for at-rest and in-flight data encryption, disaster recovery and data protection, and snapshot, remote mirroring, and backup capabilities.
