Elon Musk: Mars Will Be Populated Using Mining Robots, Glass Domes
Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX, Tesla Motors, and SolarCity, provided more details on his plans for a Mars mission on Reddit over the weekend, answering dozens of questions presented to him by the site's users. Platinum Equity Sells Mactac Americas
Los Angeles-based private equity investor Platinum Equity said this morning that it has sold Mactac Americas LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of pressure sensitive labels, to LINTEC Corporation, in a deal worth approximately $375M. Platinum Equity acquired Mactac in November of 2014, from Bemis Company. Los Angeles-based Stellar Biotechnologies, a developer of an immune stimulating protein for the therapeutic market, has named Gregory T. Baxter, Ph.D., as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development. Baxter was most recently Senior Scientist in the Department of Clinical Drug Development for CCS Associates, Inc. , and also has been Adjunct Associate Professor at Cornell University in the College of Chemical Engineering and on the Founders Board of Stanford University's StartX Med Program. Fountain Valley-based HyperX has shipped a new keyboard, aimed at the computer gaming market, called the HyperX ALLOY FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. According to HyperX, which is a part of Kingston Technology, the keyboard features red LED backlighting, ability to disable the Windows key, a USB charging port, and many other features specifically for gamers.
