Earlier this week, Los Angeles-based Donut Media (www.donut.media) announced a seed funding round, for its efforts to create a online, video-focused brand centered around car enthusiasts. Sofie Biosciences Acquires Zevacor Pharma
Culver City-based Sofie Biosciences has acquired Illinois-based Zevacor Pharma (formerly IBA Molecular North America), the company said this week. Financial details of the buy were not announced. Zevacor Pharma is a manufacturer and distributor PET imaging diagnostics and radio-therapeutics products. Sofie Biosciences is a developer of molecular imaging diagnostics and technologies based on Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Sofie is led by President and CEO Patrick Phelps.

SpaceX's Next Payload Arrives In Florida, Second Mission To Refly Rocket
A new satellite, BulgariaSat-1, built for a Bulgarian telecommunications company, has arrived at Cape Canaveral in Florida, in preparation for what will be the second mission to refly a rocket for Hawthorne-based SpaceX. SpaceX is expected to launch that missions sometime in June. According to satellite and spacecraft developer Space Systems Loral (SSL), the BulgariaSat-1 satellite has arrived at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, which will launch on a "space-proven" Falcon 9 vehicle. OpenX Claims Growth In Private Ad Marketplace Effort
Los Angeles-based online programmatic advertising marketplace operator OpenX said on Thursday that the business involving private marketplace or advertising, its "programmatic direct" business, grew by over 500 percent year-over-year. Actual dollar amounts were not announced by OpenX. OpenX only launched its programmatic direct program in January of 2016. OpenX said it added over 200 new publishers to the program in the last year.
