Avery Dennison Buys Finesse Medical
Glendale-based Avery Dennison announced this morning that it has acquired Finesse Medical Ltd., an Irish company which develops products use for wound care and skin condition management. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Finesse Medical is based in Longford, Ireland. The company develops silicone gels and polyurethane foam dressings used for wound care. Avery Dennison said that Finesse Medical had revenues of approximately 15 million Euros last year.

ViaSat Selected By Icelandair
Carlsbad-based satellite internet provider ViaSat is powering high-speed, Internet streaming for Icelandair, Icelandair said this morning. According to Icealdnair and Viasat, Icelandair will provider in-flight connectivity and internet streaming services on its transatlantic flights, across Icelandair's fleet of 16 Boeing 737MAX aircraft. MabVax Therapeutics Raises $4.1M In PIPE
San Diego-based MabVax Therapeutics has raised $4.1M in a Series G funding round, the company announced this morning, in a public offering of common stock and Series G Preferred stock. The company said that OPKO Health and its CEO and Chairman participated in the offering. MabVax is developing antibody-based products for treating cancer, and is publicly traded on the NASDAQ as MBVX.

NantKwest Names VP Of Adult Medical Affairs
Culver City-based immunotherapy developer NantKwest, which is led by biotech billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong, MD, said last week that it has named John Lee, MD FACS, as Senior Vice President fo Adult Medical Affair. According to NantKwest, Lee will oversee regulatory strategy for clinical trials, medical writing and translation of pre-clinical science into the development of new trials. Activision, Razer, Bungie Tie On Destiny 2 Peripherals
Gaming accessory maker Razer, game studio Bungie, and Santa Monica-based game publisher Activision said last week that Razer will release a suite of Destiny 2-themed products, including a mouse, keyboard, headset, and mouse mat. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Razer said it will launch the Razer DeathAdder Elite mouse, Ornata Chroma keyboard, ManO'War Tournament Edition headset and Goliathus Speed mouse mat, all as part of the deal. Webspectator Names CEO
Santa Monica-based Webspectator, the operator of a real-time Internet advertising market, has named Andy Batkin as its CEO. Batkin has served as CEO of Social Summits, a digital and social media consultancy, and also served at TVPlus, Prolink Media, and Interactive Marketing. Batkin replaces former CEO Andrew Parreira.
