HubHaus $1.4M To Match Professionals With Shared Housing In LA
HubHaus, a startup which operates an online marketplace which lets people find shared housing with people with similar professional and other interests, has raised $1.4M in a seed funding round, the company disclosed this week. The company currently offers up its service only in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The funding was led by General Catalyst Partners. Mindbody Plans To Raise $120M In Secondary Offering
San Luis Obispo-based software maker Mindbody said on Tuesday that it plans to launch a secondary offering, selling 4,400,000 shares of its stock, or approximately $120M. The company trades on the NASDAQ Global Market as MB. The offering comes two years after the IPO of the company. Mindbody is a developer of cloud-based software, used by spas and other health and wellness businesses manage appointment bookings and clients.

HIPPEAS Picks Up Funding Round From Leonardo DiCaprio, Others
Los Angeles-based natural snack food company HIPPEAS, which makes organic snack food made out of chickpeas, has raised a round of equity funding, the company announced on Tuesday. The funding came from Strand Equity Partners and Leonardo DiCaprio. Size of the funding was not announced. HIPPEAS was founded by CEO Livio Bisterzo. Embrace.io Raises $2.5M For Mobile Performance Feedback
Los Angeles-based Embrace.io, which is developing software to help provide performance feedback for mobile apps, is announcing this morning that it has raised $2.5M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Eniac Ventures, and also included The Chernin Group, Techstars Ventures and BoxGroup, plus the founders of Burstly / Testflight and Parse. Carpe Data Finds $6.6M
Santa Barbara-based Carpe Data, a new startup developing predictive data software for the insurance industry, has raised $6.6M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Aquiline Technology Growth (ATG). Carpe Data is led by Max Drucker. According to the company, the new funding will go towards sales and product development. TP Therapeutics Raises $45M
San Diego-based biopharmaceuticals firm TP Therapeutics announced this morning that it has raised $45M in a Series C funding round. Lilly Asia Ventures (LAV), OrbiMed Advisors, LLC, and S.R. One, Limited co-led the round, and also included Cormorant Asset Management and SV Tech Ventures. Hongbo Lu of Lilly Asia Ventures, and Simeon J. George of S.R. One both join the company's board as part of the funding. TP Therapeutics is developing treatments for patients with oncology drug resistance.

NantHealth Snags COO From BlackBerry
Culver City-based personalized medicine developer NantHealth announced this morning that it has appointed Ronald A. Louks as its Chief Operating Officer. Louks was most recently President of Devices & Emerging Solutions at BlackBerry Limited, and also had been CEO of OpenNMS Group. Louks also served as Chief Strategy Officer for HTC Corporation, in addition to having been CO at Sony Ericsson. NantHealth is led by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong.

EDF Renewable Services, 3M In Wind Turbine Deal
San Diego-based EDF Renewable Services, a provider of third-party renewable operations and maintenance services for the energy industry, has joined with 3M, in a deal to install wind turbine enhancements in the U.S. The two said that EDF Renewable Services will install 3M's Wind Vortex Generators on wind turbines in the collaboration. 3M's wind vortex generators are small attachments installed on wind turbine blades, which improve a turbine's performance, loads, and service life.
