Site 1001 Expands In North Carolina
San Clemente, California- and Kansas City, Missouri-based Site1001, a facilities maintenance and management software, said this week that it has opened up a new office in Raleigh, North Carolina. According to Site 1001, it has opened up an "innovation office" as its East Coast technology hub, focused on smart building and Internet-of-Things (IoT) development. Snap's Price Tag For Zenly: $213.3M
Los Angeles-based Snap Inc. paid $213.3M in cash for Zenly, the developer of a location-based social media app, in May, the company disclosed in its quarterly results on Thursday. Snap said it paid $196.1M in purchase consideration, including $186.8M in cash paid to sellers, $9.3M in liabilities due to sellers, and $17.2M in total consideration representing compensation for future employment services. Earlier reports had placed the acquisition of Zenly at between $250M to $350M.

NantHealth Slashes Staff, Sells Some Assets To Allscripts
Los Angeles-based NantHealth, one of the biotech companies run by billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong, has slashes its staff and sold off some of its assets, as part of a major restructuring. According to NantHealth, it has reduced its headcount by approximately 300, and sold off its provider/patient engagement assets to Allscripts. According to NantHealth, the move will result in a "significant reduction" in its operating losses, and will allow its remaining engineering teams to focus on cancer. Na (More info...)

Blizzard Expands Hearthstone With Knights of the Frozen Throne
Irvine-based Blizzard Entertainment has rolled out an expansion pack to its popular Hearthstone digital card game, called Knights of the Frozen Throne. Blizzard said the expansion adds 135 new cards to the title, which runs on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

Cylance Names New CFO, Touts Growth Numbers
Irvine-based cybersecurity software developer Cylance announced on Thursday that it has named Brian Robins as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Robins was most recently CFO of AlienVault, and also has served at CSC, Verisign, NeuStar, MCI, and Bankers Trust. Along with the new appointment, Cylance said it had had 283 percent growth in overall revenue year-over-year, although it did not release any actual financials. Cylance develops artificial intelligence driven antivirus software.
