Western Digital Leads Funding In Elastifile
Irvine-based Western Digital is the lead investor in cloud-based file storage systems developer Elastifile, which announced a $15M, Series B funding extension last week. Elastifile said that Western Digital led its funding, which also included Battery Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Elastifile is based in San Jose.

Ducommun Acquires Lightning Diversion Systems
Santa Ana-based Ducommun said on Monday that it has completed the acquisition of LS Holdings Company, the parent company of Huntington-based Lightning Diversion Systems (LDS). Ducommun said it paid $60M in cash for LDS, which develops lightning protection systems used in the aerospace and defense industry. Ducommun is a manufacturer of electronics, aerospace, defense, and industrial systems.

Cordial Connects With Channel Partners
San Diego-based Cordial, the startup developer of personalized marketing software, has inked a number of channel partnerships, the company said Friday. The startup, which is venture backed by Upfront Ventures and High Alpha, says it has linked with seven channel partners, including 250ok, Digioh, LiveClicker, LiveIntent, OneSpot, SparkPost and Urban Airship. GoFundMe Opens Hurricane Irma Fundraising Hub
San Diego-based GoFundMe, the crowd funding site focused on social funding campaigns, said over the weekend that it has set up a Hurriane Irma Fundraising Hub. According to GoFundMe, the page will act as a centralized hub for campaigns created to help those affected by Irma, after a devastating trip through the Caribbean islands and into Florida. OpenX Wins The Guardian
Los Angeles-based programmatic advertising software developer OpenX says it has been selected by online publisher the Guardian. According to OpenX, The Guardian has more than 150 million unique browsers worldwide per month. OpenX said The Guardian is using its OpenX Ad Exchange product. OpenX did not say what kind of impact the deal with The Guardian would have on its revenues.

Nimble Plugs Into Microsoft Outlook
Santa Monica-based customer relationship management software developer Nimble, led by CRM software veteran Jon Ferrara, has launched a new, add-in for Microsoft Outlook on Android. According to Nimble, the new plugin for Outlook provides information on people, company profiles, and more for Android users. Lytx Moves Manufacturing Back To The US
San Diego-based Lytx said today that it is moving its manufacturing back to the United States from China. According to Lytx, which manufactures video-based vehicle safety systems for the commercial and government market, it will bring 70 new jobs and a $50M investment to Logansport, IN, where it expects to ramp to full production in March of 2018. Rubicon Project Backs Launch Of New Industry Group, Prebid.org
Los Angeles-based Rubicon Project said today that it has joined with fellow online ad technology firm AppNexus, in creating new group focused on open-source, header bidding software. According to AppNexus and Rubicon Project, the new group, Predbig.org is an independent organization dedicated to the development and promotion of open-source header bidding solutions and other open-source tools to drive publisher monetization.
