Bitium Acquired By Google
Santa Monica-based Bitium, a developer of cloud identity and single sign-on software, has been acquired by Google, Google said on Tuesday afternoon. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to Google, the acquisition of Bitium will help it with its "Cloud Identity vision". AT&T Launches Site To Help Locate Family, Friends In Puerto Rico
AT&T, which has been seriously ramping up operations in Los Angeles pending its acquisition of Time Warner, says it has launched a new website to try to help people locate family members and friends in Puerto Rico. According to AT&T, the new website lets anyone--regardless of carrier--register the cell number of family or friend who is an AT&T wireless customer in Puerto Rico, and lets that user know people in the U.S. have been trying to contact them. Rocket Lab Plans Four Satellite Payload In October
Huntington Beach-based rocket launch startup Rocket Lab says it plans to carry four, Earth-imaging satellites into space, for its second test flight of its rocket. According to Rocket Lab, it plans to launch two Earth-imaging Dove satellites for Planet and two Lemur-2 satellites from Spire for weather mapping and ship traffic tracking on its next launch from New Zealand. Creative Artists Agency Gets Major Funding From Temasek
The Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the entertainment and sports agency which also is an active investor and partner of technology and media companies here, said this morning that it has received a an investment from Temasek, the $200 billion Singapore investment company. Envoy Technologies Gets $1.5M For Electric Vehicle Sharing
Culver City-based Envoy Technologies a startup developing programs to help make electric vehicles available to disadvantaged communities, has received $1.5M in funding from the California Energy Commission, according to the company. OpenX Acquires Two Companies
Los Angeles-based OpenX has acquired Mezzobit and PubNation, two companies in the programmatic advertising space, the company said on Monday. FloQast Connects With Oracle, SAP, Microsoft
Los Angeles-based FloQast, which develops software to help accountants manage closing their books, has connected its software to Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft with a new software product.
