Nirvanix Hires Three With Enterprise Focus

San Diego-based Nirvanix, a venture-backed provider of storage-as-a-service, announced Tuesday that the firm has bolstered its staff with three storage experts focused on the enterprise and IT business. The firm said it has hired on Stephen Foskett as Director of Consulting, Arvind Gidwani as Director of Solutions Services, and Brian Schwarzentruber as Solutions Architect. The hires appear to be a push by the firm into the enterprise storage area, as the firm has been expanding its cloud-based storage offerings to enterprises. Foskett has previously served at Contoural, GlassHouse Technologies, and StorageNetworks; Gidwani has served at Stratoform Technologies, Drivecam, Qualcomm, Cisco, and Applied Materials; and Schwarzentruber was at Continuity Software. Nirvanix provides cloud-based storage which can be used by both Internet and web-based businesses, as well as enterprises; the firm recently hired a VP of Sales from Brocade, and in October rolled out CloudNAS, software which creates a network-attached-storage device based entirely on the firm's Internet-based cloud storage API. Nirvanix is backed by Intel Capital, Valhalla Partners, Mission Ventures, Windward Ventures, and the European Founders Fund.
