OTOY Links GPU Rendering, Blockchain With New Token

Los Angeles-based OTOY, which provides cloud-based, graphics rendering services, has jumped into the world of Blockchain, saying that it has launched a new Ethereum-based token called RNDR. According to OTOY, its new Blockchain-based rendering platform is build on the Ethereum blockchain, and creates a distributed network of idle GPUs to render graphics more requickly and efficiently for content creators. The company said its network enables the crowdsourcing of rendering across a peer-to-peer network, to improve the process of rendering and streaming 3D environments, models, and objects. OTOY said the advisory board for RNDR includes Hollywood director and producer J.J. Abrams, founder of Brave and Basic Attention Token Brendan Eich, and talent agent Ari Emanuel.
