Lake Forest-based Panasonic Avionics, which is the Orange County-based subsidiary of Japanese electronics firm Panasonic Corp., has been selected to provide Wi-Fi on over 300 aircraft for United Continental, United Continental said Friday. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. United says it expects to debut Wi-Fi on its fleet on more than 300 United Airlines and Continental Airlines mainline aircraft beginning in mid-2012. The Wi-Fi service will provide both broadband Internet and video streaming to passengers.
