PLX Systems Acquired by Access Integrated Technologies

Los Angeles-based PLX Systems, a provider of enterprise software for managing intellectual property (IP) assets, has been acquired. Access Integrated Technologies said today that it will acquire the firm, and operate it as a unit of AccessIT. AccessIT said that PLX CEO Gary Bishop and several members of the PLX management team will join the firm as part of the acquisition. PLX software is used by Internet retailers, web portals, and digital-equipped movie theaters. PLX is venture backed, and has received funding in the past from Rustic Canyon, ING Barings, STI Ventures, Polytechnos Ventures, Eastman Ventures, and others.
