Qualcomm Tests MediaFLO In The UK

San Diego-based Qualcomm reports today that it is rolling out Qualcomm's MediaFLO technology in the UK with British Sky Broadcasting Limited (BSkyB). Qualcomm said that the two companies have signed a nonbinding letter of intent to conduct technical trials of its high speed content delivery network in the United Kingdom. The two firms said that the trial will be used to evaluate the performance of the technology, for BSkyB's exploration of opportunities to deliver video to mobile devices in the UK. Qualcomm's MediaFLO technology is designed to deliver multiple streams of video to wireless devices. Qualcomm has partnered with Verizon here in the US to deploy its MediaFLO technology.
