Irvine-based Quartics, which is developing video processing chips, has raised $6.5M in a new round of funding, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. Details on the funding have not yet been announced by the company. Quartics is the latest startup of Safi Qureshey, best known for founding AST. Quartics' chips provide media co-processing, including encoding and decoding video and other related functions. More information »
