RealD Prices IPO




Los Angeles-based 3D movie technology provider RealD said late Thursday evening that it has priced its IPO, offering 12.5M shares of its common stock at $16.00 per share. The firm said it expects to start trading Friday on the NYSE as "RLD". The IPO priced above the firm's initial estimated IPO pricing of between $13.00 and $15.00 per share. The firm said it is selling 6.0M of those shares, with selling stockholders offering 6.5M shares; the firm also said the underwriters have been been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1.875M shares of its common stock. RealD's ipo was underwritten by J.P. Morgan Securities, Piper Jaffray & Co., William Blair & Company, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated and BMO Capital Markets Corp. RealD is backed by Shamrock Capital, which owns about 14.8 percent of the firm. Co-founders Michael Lewis and Joshua Greer also each own about 14.7 percent.
