Saban Capital Hires Managing Director

Los Angeles-based Saban Capital, the investment group of Haim Saban, disclosed this morning that it has hired on Elie Dekel as a Managing Director at the firm. Saban is an investor in media, entertainment, and communications companies, and also maintains a venture capital arm called Saban Ventures. Dekel was previously head of Licensing and Merchandising for 20th Century Fox. The firm said that Dekel will focus on licensing, merchandising, and intellectual property efforts. Saban is an investor in Univision, Next New Networks, Skydeck, and other firms; Saban's venture capital efforts are managed by Craig Cooper and Richard Yen.
