San Diego, Los Angeles Among Most Broadband Connected

Nielsen/NetRatings, the Internet audience measurement firm, reported that in August 2004 San Diego and Los Angeles were among the most connected cities in the nation, with over 60% broadband connectivity. The company found that the top local markets connected via broadband included San Diego, at number one, and Los Angeles, at number nine. 69.6 percent of the population of San Diego is connected via broadband. Among the other most-connected cities were Phoenix (2), Detroit (3), New York (4), and Sacramento (5). The company's survey, which also covered the most popular sites and advertisers for the month, also found that Santa Monica-based LowerMyBills.com was number 10 on the list of advertisers, with an estimated 1.1 billion ad impressions during the month.
