Los Angeles-based ShareSquare, the QR code startup headed by Matthias Galica, said Friday that it has launched a contest at SXSW. The firm said that it will be tracking all of the scans of its ShareSquare QR codes at SXSW, and will award the top five bands with a $6000 award package. ShareSquare is marketing its QR code service to musicians and entertainers. The firm's web site allows users to easily create QR codes, the 2D barcodes which link mobile phone browsers and applications to online information.
