Snapchat Reports Hundreds Of Subpoenas, No National Security Requests

Venice-based instant messaging service Snapchat released its first transparency report, detailing all of the legal and government demands for information from its systems, showing that the company fielded more then 375 U.S. criminal legal requests for information--via subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, and emergency orders--from November of 2014 until February of this year. Snapchat also revealed that, so far, there have been no NSA requests for information--or other wiretaps--on its service. Snapchat, like many other technology companies, has started to make that information available to users so that they're aware of how their information is being used.
