Sonos Opens Retina, Android Tablet Beta

Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the developer of the whole-home, user friendly music systems which connect to a user's smartphone or PC, said Friday that it has opened up new open beta for users of its systems with iOS devices with Retina displays, and Android tablets. According to Sonos, it is updating its apps--the Sonos Controllers for iPhone and iPad--for the new high resolution displays, and also has been testing out improved behavior of its Android tablet app, in landscape orientation. Sonos did not say how many people it is adding to its beta, but did say that current users could register their Sonos systems to qualify for early access. Sonos develops a user friendly, easy to use multi-room music system, which can stream music files from a PC and from many Internet music services, and is easily controlled from a smartphone or other controller.
