Sony Online Entertainment, which is based in San Diego, said today that it now has over eight million players on its virtual world Free Realms. Sony's virtual world, which allows users to network with other people, and is also connected to the Free Realms trading card game, is targeted at families. The firm launched the site in April of last year.
