SpaceX Claims Communications Advance
Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the commercial rocket firm headed by Elon Musk, announced today that it has activated a new spacecraft communications systems for its Dragon spacecraft. The firm--which is in the midst of testing various parts of its new Dragon--said the firm has successfully tested the system to communicate with SpaceX and NASA during tests in January and March. The firm said the system allows International Space Station (ISS) crew to monitor and command the firm's Dragon spacecraft during cargo delivery missions. SpaceX has been working with NASA on using its yet-to-be-proven spacecraft for delivery of cargo to the ISS.
