SpaceX Launches Satellite Into Space For Taiwan

Los Angeles-based SpaceX successfully delivered the Formosat-5 satellite for Taiwan into orbit on Thursday morning from Vandenberg Air Force Base, just north of Santa Barbara, and also successfully landed the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on a barge in the Pacific. The launch was obscured from view in much of the Ventura and Los Angeles areas due to coastal clouds. SpaceX said it had successfully deployed the Formosat-5 satellite into low earth orbit through the launch.
