SRS Labs Launches iPhone Music Player

Santa Ana-based SRS Labs, the developer of surround sound and audio enhancement technology, said today that it is looking to one-up the built in music player on the iPhone and iPod touch, with its own app. The firm said its new MyTunes app, which is free for the basic app but $4.99 for premium features, supports the existing iTunes music library on those devices, but instead uses SRS audio processing technology and other features. The firm claims that the use of its SRS WOW HD processing "restores the natural tonality and spatial characteristics of recorded audio" making it sound if the listener is in the same room as the artists. The new software also includes an equalizer and better bass audio playback.
