Staccato Finds $18M

San Diego-based Staccato Communications has garnered another round of funding for its wireless CMOS chip. Staccato raised $18M in a Series C venture funding led by Intel Capital's Digital Home Fund and Vision Capital. Existing investors Allegis Capital, Bay Partners, Charles River Partners, and Interwest Partners also participated. Staccato is developing silicon used for ultrawideband, CMOS-based networking, with a focus on wireless USB, Bluetooth, and IP connectivity.
