Starburst Aerospace Launches New Accelerator

El Segundo-based aerospace and defense accelerator Starburst Aerospace says it is launching a new startup accelerator effort, called the Minority Serving Institutions Space Accelerator. The new accelerator is being run as part of a partnership between Starburst and NASA's Science Mission Directorate (SMD), its Minority University Research Education Project within the Office of STEM Engagement, and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. According to Starburst, the new accelerator will engage under-represented academic institutions in helping NASA make significant advancements in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the development of autonomous systems with up to $50,000 in prize funding to each institution.
