Los Angeles-based Total Immersion, the developer of augmented reality (AR) software, is aiming at the game development market with its technology today, saying it has released a new version of its software specifically aimed at game and application developers. The firm--which also released a free, AR-based game called SkinVaders for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch--said it is looking to help developers create new cross-platform games and applications using its technology. Total Immersion said its new toolkit allows companies to create AR games for iOS, Android, Microsoft Kinect, and the web.
