Tradesy Takes On Women's Clothing Resale, Gets $1.5M in Funding

Tradesy, a new website and mobile app developed by Recycled Bride's Tracy DiNunzio, is launching Wednesday, with $1.5M in funding from Rincon Venture Partners, 500 Startups, Dany Levy (DailyCandy), Daher Capital, Bee Partners, Double M Capital and Launchpad LA. The Los Angeles-based startup has developed a service which makes it easy for women to take and sell their clothing, even handling returns and shipping. DiNunzio built Recycled Bride into a hugely popular marketplace for women to buy and selling wedding related fashions; the new effort, Tradesy, builds on that effort and expands the company across a much wider marketplace. In an interview, DiNunzio said the funding allows the already profitable company to build a much larger business. Among the features of Tradesy are inclusion of shipping, packaging, and insurance in the pricing of items; hassle free returns; and pricing recommendations. The service even helps fill out product descriptions for users, who only have to submit a photo of their item to get it listed. More information »
