TransDimension Acquired by Oxford Semiconductor

Irvine-based TransDimension, a maker of embedded USB software, has been acquired by Oxford Semiconductor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Oxford said that it was acquiring TransDimension to strengthen its connectivity product portfolio. Oxford will add the TransDimension line of software to its existing line of products. The TransDimension software is used to implement USB an dother communications protocols on embedded devices. Oxford is relocating its former U.K.-based headquarters to Milpitas as a result of the acquisition. TransDimension is backed by GKM Ventures, iSherpa Capital, Rolling Oaks Capital, Shelter Capital Partners, and VantagePoint Venture Partners, and raised over $28.35M in venture funding.
