Tri Alpha Energy Gets $50M
Irvine-based Tri Alpha Energy, a stealth mode firm apparently working on nuclear fusion technology, has raised $50M in funding, according to numbers released earlier this month in the PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA Moneytree venture capital report. Details on the funding--or the firm's technology--have not been announced. Tri Alpha Energy is apparently based on the research of UC Irvine professor Norman Rostoker, and has reported raised prior funding from such firms as Goldman Sachs, Venrock, Vulcan Capital, New Enterprise Associates, and others.
