TrueCar Nominates Former Honda, Ford Executive To Board

Santa Monica-based TrueCar said Monday that it has nominated former American Honda Motor Company EVP John Mendel to its board of directors. Mendel will stand for election on May 18th, and will replace Abhishek Agrawal. Mendel recently retired from Honda, where he was Executive Vice President, Automobile Division. Mendel had served at that position at Honda since November of 2004, and before that, had spent 28 years at Ford Motoro Company, plus served as EVP and COO at Mazda North American Operations. Mendel got his start in 1976 at Ford. TrueCar operates an online business where consumers can buy automobiles, driven by pricing information and transparency based on recent local transactions; the company works to connect consumers directly with local dealers to complete those transactions.
