UltiZen Bolsters Chinese Operations

Shanghai, China- and Los Angeles-based UltiZen Games Ltd., which provides game development and outsourcing, is investing $3.5M in its game studios in China, the firm said Wednesday. UltiZen said it would open a new $1.5M studio in Suzhou, China, and invest the remaining $2.0M in its current Shanghai and Beijing studios. UltiZen provides outsourcing and development of video games, and has its U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles. The firm--which is venture backed by PAC-LINK, Japan Asia Investment Co. (JAIC) and CyberAgent--recently landed $6M in a Series B funding. UltiZen said it will hire 100 developers in its new Suzhou location, and bolster its Shanghai staff to 450 from its current 350.
